How can YOU save the Nukak? 

Write a letter to the Colombian Government 

In the past, policies have been changed because of letters of concern sent to the government. Many of the letters campaigning for the protection of Nukak's and their rights have already motivated the government to create a reserve in 1993, and enlarge it in 1997. However, it

is still too small in size and the Nukak cannot practice their cultural ways of survival in this new land.

Get involved by sending a letter supporting the protection of Nukak and their rights so that their lands are respected and can live there in a place where they can take part in cultural practices. Check out an example provided by Survival International by clicking on the button below!

Make sure that the letter you are writing is polite.  It is best to send your letter by post, and you may use the fax numbers provided below

Start a campaign! 

Campaigning for the rights and protection of the Nukak tribe is one of the most effective ways to get involved! Some ways to start a campaign include: 

​

  • make a website 

  • make a charity organization/ or hold charity organization events based on existing organizations

  • make a pamphlet/brochure and send it out 

  • create a storybook based on the personal stories shared

  • create a video by informing your audience about the danger the Nukak tribe is facing

  • create visually-pleasing posters/flyers 

Donate

The donations you make can rage from helping orgnaizations/projects like this, Survival International, etc... to further develop, to making a direct impact to the Nukak tribe by enlarging their new lands.

  • posting on social media about the Nukak tribe so that attention can be gained 

  • giving a presentation at school about the rights and protection needed by the Nukak

  • bringing up this topic during a casual talk with a group of friends or your family.
